How long does setup take?

Do I need a Google Workspace account?
Yes. Scout Post integrates with Google Chat, which is available to all Google Workspace users (including free Gmail accounts with Chat enabled).
Do I need a Basecamp account?
Yes. Scout Post works with Basecamp 3 and Basecamp 4. You'll connect your existing Basecamp account during setup.
Is my data secure?
Absolutely. We use OAuth for secure authentication (we never see your password). All data is encrypted in transit. We store minimal data (thread IDs only) for 30 days. SOC 2 compliant infrastructure.
Can my whole team use Scout Post?
Yes! Once you install Scout Post in a Google Chat space, anyone in that space gets notifications. Each team member can also install it individually.
What Basecamp events trigger notifications?
11 event types: messages, comments, to-dos (created/assigned/completed), documents, uploads, questions, answers, schedule entries, and check-ins.
Can I customize which notifications I receive?
Coming soon! Currently all events are forwarded. We're building custom notification rules so you can filter by project, event type, or person.
Does Scout Post work on mobile?
Yes! Use Google Chat mobile app to receive notifications and reply. Standalone Scout Post mobile app coming in Q2 2026.
